Favorite Photo Spots at Universal Orlando and Islands of Adventure
Long after your vacation is over, all you’ll have left are the photos and souvenirs. I thought it would be fun to list my favorite photo spots around Universal and Islands of Adventure for your iconic family trip photo.
The Jaws Shark
Universal Orlando, San Francisco
The Jaws ride shut down in order to make room for Harry Potter in 2012, but they kept the famous shark and moved him to the pier in the San Francisco area for photo ops. The best part? There is a rope in its mouth that you can hang on (this is not against any rules I have ever come across, and is perfectly safe), and it actually looks like you’re being sucked up into it’s mouth.
Jurassic Park T-Rex
Islands of Adventure, Jurassic Park
There are a number of great photo ops around Jurassic Park. They have scattered authentic vehicles from the movies around the area. Definitely keep an eye out behind you though, there are many predators that would love to snap off a limb or two while you strive for that perfect shot.
Marmaduke
Islands of Adventure, Toon Lagoon
This is one of my favorites. The photo is actually taken vertically, but if you flip it like I did here, it looks like you are flying in the air behind Marmaduke.
Voodoo Doughnut Throne
Citywalk, Voodoo Doughnuts
There is a giant doughnut chair outside Voodoo doughnuts that would make for a “sweet” family photo (see what I did there?)
Men in Black
Immigration
Tour
Universal Studios, World Expo/Springfield
Ask one of the agents for a special Men in Black Immigration tour after you ride, and get all kinds of awesome action shots.
Hogwarts Express
Islands of Adventure, Hogsmeade
Pose for a picture with the conductor in front of the Hogwarts Express.
Spongebob’s Crib
Universal Orlando, Woody Woodpecker's Kidzone
Who lives in a pineapple under the sea?? If you have any Spongebob fans, pop into the gift shop, even if you aren’t planning on buying anything. There are some super fun props.
Hang Ten, Dude
Citywalk
Snap a photo of your adorable little surfer on the way in (or out) of the park. This is located along the main entrance from the buses or parking garage, and there’s plenty of room on the surfboard for a group shot. One note: Because this is right on the main path, there is often a line, though never a long one.
Number 12
Grimmauld Place
Universal Studios, London
You might just miss this if you aren’t looking closely. On the way into the secret entrance of Diagon Alley, you walk through the city streets of London. Be sure to take a pic outside the headquarters of the Order of the Phoenix, and watch for a familiar face to peak from behind the curtains.
Port of Entry
Islands of Adventure
Cash INSISTS on taking a picture on this tiger every. single. time. we walk by. The walk into Islands of Adventure is actually full of fun props to take photos on or in, so be sure and allow a little extra time for everyone to stop and pose.
Coca Cola
Refresh Station
Universal Studios, World Expo/Springfield
In between Springfield and Men in Black, there is a lovely air conditioned building full of Freestyle drink machines. It’s one of our favorite places to sit, refill our drinks, and cool off. There is also a machine where you can enter in your name, and it will put it on an image on a Coke bottle on the wall.
Hagrid/Sirius’s
Motorbike
Universal Studios, Diagon Alley
This is located right outside Gringotts, under the dragon. You might wanna prop your little ones up so you can see their faces…or even better, let them drive!
Seuss Landing
Islands of Adventure
Seuss landing is one of my favorite places for pictures because everything is soooo bright and cheery! Be sure to walk all the little side paths, and you might find yourself in the middle of a storybook.
The Globe
Universal Studios, Entrance
Last but certainly not least…if you didn’t get a picture in front of the globe, did you even go to Universal??
Be sure to check out all of the fun behind the scenes things there are to do for Jurassic Park lovers!
